SAIC General Motors Corporation Limited is a joint venture between China’s SAIC Motor and America’s General Motors. These two have come together to renew the brand image of Cadillac, by launching several new and exciting cars – including the all-new 2025 Cadillac Optiq EV. While the rush of people running into showrooms to buy an electric car might have slowed down a bit, EVs haven’t become irrelevant.

For those who can afford to spend hundreds of thousands of dirhams (or dollars), luxury electric cars might just be a ‘green’ way of showing off their high-flying status and deep pockets – the UAE has no shortage of such buyers. The premium American automaker has already announced the Cadillac Lyriq for the UAE, and it is only a matter of time before it introduces the 2025 Cadillac Optiq compact SUV as well.

For those on a tighter budget, YallaMotor has listings of used cars for sale in UAE and verified secondhand cars in Dubai – many of which will likely cost far less than the prospective pricing of a brand-new Cadillac Optiq. Having said that, the Optiq will be an entry-level electric SUV from Cadillac.

Exterior of the all-new 2025 Cadillac Optiq

The 2025 Cadillac Optiq is quite a smart-looking compact SUV – especially when viewed directly from the front or from the front three quarters. The exterior design of the Cadillac Optiq EV emphasizes an athletic poise and sporty stance but with balanced proportions, achieved in part by pushing the wheels to the edges and keeping the overhangs relatively short for an SUV this size.

The stylish front fascia of the Cadillac Optiq is home to some signature design features such as a black crystal grille with a unique laser-etched pattern & LEDs, large but sleek vertical LED lighting elements, and a sporty bumper finished in gloss black. Approaching or leaving the vehicle with the key fob will initiate an elaborate lighting choreography, adding to the overall theater.

Even the rear quarter window of the Optiq is unique, featuring acoustic glass that boasts a unique design with intricate pattern work. The rear of the Optiq SUV sports Cadillac’s Mondrian crest just below the heavily-sloped window that is flanked by vertical LED bars, above which is a vented spoiler that trails a fixed glass roof, and below is a small duck-tail spoiler. The main rear lights are affixed behind transparent glass modules, while a functional diffuser setup is seen below the bumper.

Interior of the all-new 2025 Cadillac Optiq

Premium materials and cabin design seem to shine through on the inside of the all-new 2025 Cadillac Optiq. Cadillac has also focused on state-of-the-art and high-tech interior appointments that mix & blend multiple materials and unique trim in order to create a contemporary yet seamless in-cabin experience. The yarn-like upholstery found on the dashboard, center pedestal, and door pads is made from fully recycled materials.

The brand’s sustainable approach to modern vehicle interiors also means that the all-new Optiq’s cabin features something called ‘PaperWood veneer,’ which is essentially equal parts tulip wood and recycled newspaper. The seats look really comfortable and plush, while the floating pedestal and metallic AC vent controls are a cool touch. The leather-wrapped steering wheel gets knurled rocker switches, capacitive-touch buttons, and also an LED indicator bar at the top.

While it is smaller than the range-topping Lyriq, Cadillac’s intelligent design and packaging techniques mean that the interior of the Optiq feels spacious and even offers a respectable boot with decent storage capacity. In fact, if you want a two-row family SUV that does not compromise on cabin practicality and occupant comfort, the all-new Cadillac Optiq could be right up your alley – in the electric vehicle segment, of course.

Features of the all-new 2025 Cadillac Optiq

The 2025 Cadillac Optiq is slated to come with advanced features such as Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology, plus Driver Attention Assist, Lane Changing Assist, Forward Collision Alert, Blind Zone Steering Assist, and Enhanced Automatic Parking – Cadillac hasn’t stopped at that these either. For better understanding and situational awareness, the new Optiq also gets a suite of cameras, alongside advanced radar and ultrasonic sensors.

Other features of the 2025 Cadillac Optiq come in the form of 21-inch alloy wheels, a head-up display, built-in Google apps & connectivity suite (includes Google Maps and Google Assistant), a custom-tuned 19-speaker high-definition audio system by AKG that supports Dolby Atmos, heated & ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, and a gorgeous 33-inch curved LED display that supports 9k resolution and over 1 billion colors.

Being a 400-volt architecture, the Cadillac Optiq is limited to 150 kW of DC fast charging, which equates to around 127 km of electric range added to the batteries in 10 minutes. Price of the all-new 2025 Cadillac Optiq

In the U.S., the all-new 2025 Cadillac Optiq is expected to start from USD 54,000 (or AED 198,000), being available in Luxury and Sport trims. Once the new Optiq reaches the shores of the UAE, you can expect the price mentioned above to be jacked up by quite a margin, as always.

On the other hand, if you have the money and don’t want an electric SUV, the gargantuan but powerful Cadillac Escalade V will make for a show-stopping statement – prices in the UAE start from AED 599,000.
